Notes:
The secret show that was not really a secret at all. No matter how I hard I tried, I was unable to get tickets to see this one. That was somewhat disappointing as this show was essentially in my backyard. The good thing is that Stubb's is an open-air venue and so it was possible for me (and a few hundred other fans) to hang out outside and listen to the show. I started on top of the parking garage across the street and about halfway through Sad But True, the cops kicked us out. Then I moved directly in front of the stage on 9th street. At no point during the night did I actually glimpse a band member, but the sound was loud and clear. An odd setlist compared to most shows. No Sandman and none of the big singles from Death Magnetic, though BBS is excellent choice. I had only heard Breadfan and Whiplash once before, so those were my highlights.

Side note: Why do people bother calling their friends during a show and holding a phone up for the other person to hear? Their friend can't really hear anything, their talking annoys everyone around them, "Dude, it's For Whom The Bell Tolls... from Ride the Lightning. No man, it's not from the black album...", and a livemetallica recording will be up in a few days. There is really no point to it. Idiots.
