Notes:
Let's start at the top. The big news of this show was that they debuted Cyanide from Death Magnetic. It's great to be one of the first 30,0000 people in the world to hear in the song. I really liked it at the time, but after listening the album a bunch, I actually find it to be to be weakest song. That's a good thing. This being my 9th Metallica show, there are not too many of the concert staples that I haven't heard at least once. I'm glad they opened up the playbook to bring back Justice, No Remorse, and Damage Inc. The inclusion of the Mercyful Fate medley was even more surprising than Cyanide. I love (LOVE) the song and King Diamond's vocals put it over the top. That was a great encore choice.

Having never seen Ozzy before, I wasn't sure what to expect. He was surprisingly alive and animated. The songs are all classics and I'm glad I got to see him once.

Arun and I got there early enough to see the Dime Tribute. I'll remember this part of the show for actually being there instead of remembering the music itself. It was a little disjointed and as much as I like the participating vocalists, it's hard to bring what Phil brings.

We also caught Hellyeah's and Serj Tankian's sets. Blah.
