The biggest news of the day is that these two are getting married. Congrats to them. Nick and Dion Wilky. Mr. and Mrs. Wilky. Sounds cool.
Austin was good. Racquetball, football, frisbee, poker, Chuy's, two non-interview company meetings, 3 awkward comments, and a patridge in a pear tree. Or something like that.
Currently enjoying the endless stream of SPEC benchmarks, giving me plenty of time to do nothing.
It's a good thing that Leon Lett is not playing in the upcoming Dallas-Miami Thanksgiving day game. We all remember what happened 10 years ago. (10 years?!?!?)
Okay, so not that much babbling.
As the regular season is over, now is as good a time as any for all this.

The game by game scores are a little too schizo to derive anything from, but the series scores show a nice upward trend (I'm conveniently ignoring weeks 7 and 8). My worst and best weeks were in consecutive weeks. Yep.
James came by this weekend and it was awesome. It was surprising to think that it had been more than 2.5 years since I last saw him. And it's even crazier to think I've known him for close to 10 years. It's been a long time since I used to knock on his door everyday after school and we would gather everyone to play football. Or we would play Madden '94 or Sewer Shark for Sega. Good times then and good times now. This weekend we watched Master and Commander (so damn slow) and then went to Murphy's and Brother's. Also caught up with Duncan at Brother's which was cool. Let's hope it's not another 2.5 years till the next time. And if there is anyone else out there that I haven't seen in a while, call me up or something.
Bowling was good today for a two reasons. We kicked ass as a team and I set a new personal high. I bowled a 117-169-124 - we are in the playoffs. Andrew and I narrowly missed winning that IM racquetball a few years back, but I won't be denied now - gotta win something some time.
The other reason bowling was good was because I got some pictures and video clips. You can find those here. Please feel free to make fun of the way I bowl in the comments below. What you say can't hurt me - I bowled a 169. Also, the movies are large, so you might want to Right Click - Save Target As to save them to your computer before viewing.
Another crappy peformance - 79-112-90 - we lost all 3 games today, and thus allowed the 3rd place team to tie us for second place in the league. The top two teams make the playoffs to compete against the other leagues.
However, there is good news. There are an odd number of teams in the league, and there is no such thing as a bye, so the team team who doesn't have an opponent that week just has to get 90% of their average to win all 3 games. Lucky for us, we don't have an opponent next week, and it is the last week of the season. As long as we don't choke, we should make the playoffs and anything can happen then.
Matrix Revolutions was cool.
I once again earned a merit badge this weekend for being a code monkey.
Ahman Green saves me again in fantasy football.
Anyone wanna offer me a job?
I'm hungry...
As was pointed out, I missed my weekly blog entry. Since I didn't go bowling last night, I forgot to do so. I didn't go bowling cause I was sick and I had other stuff to do. As it turns out, our team got creamed and lost all 3 games. However, I'm not stupid enough to believe that it was because I wasn't there. As rumor holds, someone on the other team bowled a freaking 243! How do you compete with something like that? Don't worry though, as I will be back next week and we will continue our run towards the playoffs.
Probably the hardest test of the semester coming up tomorrow. "The devil is in the details" doesn't even come close to describing this class. No one in their right mind would ever remember all the details about IP layers and protocols and other such nonsense, but I will make damn sure I know them for tomorrow. That being said, this is the first class I have had here at UIUC where it feels like you are taught the nitty gritty all the way through (all h4X0r like) as opposed to being taught various academic topics with the occasional lab thrown in.
The interview of all interviews (meaning the best of out 2) is Thursday night - here's hoping I can get a job at a place I have always wanted a job (albeit on far west side of the country).
All you dallas and austin people out there (is there anyone from dallas that actually reads this?) will get to see me over thanksgiving break - consider yourselves the fortunate few.
I need to get my guitar fixed. I want to learn this song that is based on tapping, and if you don't have an amp hooked up, you can't tap. It's "Midnight" by Satriani, and it truly beautiful. Ignoring the fact that it would take me a month to learn the song (i.e. build up tapping skillz), I really look forward to learning this one. And to head off any comments from Ram and/or Gabe, - yes I'm a EE who hasn't fixed my own guitar.
