More Austin fun

Went down to Austin this weekend to help Ram and Parker move to their new place at The Riata - we should have lived there during school - the price is comparable but the place is infinitely better than Landings or Camino Real. Had fun goofing around - took some pictures as always. Bought some RAM from Parker and got an 80GB harddrive at Fry's, so my computer thirst has been satisfied for the time being. Gonna help Hunter move Carrie's stuff tomorrow - I'm the guy that helps people move because I am scary strong.

Thank you very much

I'm sure all of you are will be very excited and relieved to hear what I'm about to tell you. Make sure to sit down and have a glass of water nearby. After many hours of effort, I have reached 100% completion in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The journey was long and the results are somewhat worth it, but whatever. Here are my stats.

3 Movies And A Wedding

I've never seen Four Weddings and A Funeral, so I don't know if you are already bored by reading my title. I'll go ahead and assume you are not.

Went to Austin on Friday to Ram's. Made our obligatory trip to Chuy's then off to Gabe's place to watch The Ring - seen it before - not bad. Saw Adaptation on Saturday morning - it was enjoyable, but I'm not sure I got what there was to get. Maybe there wasn't anything "to get" and I'm looking for something that's not there - oh well, decent enough. Picked up Said afterwords and we headed to Houston for Sheelpi's brother's wedding. Of course, none of our group (other than Said) actually knows him and we didn't meet him at the wedding, but that is just a detail. Sheelpi assures us that the two rounds of violence at the wedding are not commonplace - I was amused. I have a few pictures from our group - I have passing pictures of the groom and absolutely none of the bride - oh well. I'm sure Shlep will have enough of those already.

Stayed at Ram's place Saturday and then off to Beaumont to visit Vamsi on Sunday. Bigger campus than I thought it would be, but still tiny compared to UT or UIUC. Then back to Ram's place where we saw Say Anything - I'm not really a big 80's movie fan and this movie didn't do much for me.

In other NFL news, I'm at 98% in Vice City. I'm sorta worried because I only have one mission remaining and if that only takes me to 99%, I won't know what else to do. I've finished every other mission that I know of and it might be impossible to find that remaining 1%. I'll keep you guys updated as you must be on the edge of your seats to find out what happens.

I've moved away from previous, crappy layout for pictures to Gallery, which is a nifty open source photo gallery. You can check out the main page of albums here. Please contact me if you want full size versions of any of the pictures.

Minor problem

The problem with waking up at 3:00 pm is that it is hard to sleep before 5 or 6 AM. And I have to get up early (by my standards). What is a person to do?

I like waking up at 3:30 pm

Some administrative news first - I've switched over to gautamp.com, so change your bookmarks. I would like to thank Ram for letting me leech of off his domain name for these past few months.

Still nothing more than games and guitar since the last update. Going to Houston this weekend for a wedding - I don't know the bride or the groom, but such details are unimportant.

I played Serious Sam 2 for a total of one day. I played the first 2 levels normally, then turned on God mode, and just ran thru the rest. After playing involved single player games (Deus Ex, Thief, Half-life), going back to mere run-shoot-kill FPSs is sorta boring. That being said, I'll still play Doom III (whenever that comes out) and I'll probably enjoy it.

Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)

I'm not listening to Motley Crue right now, but would it be so bad if I did?

Not much going on. Couldn't get N.O.L.F. 2 to burn properly (dad's computer doesn't have the right ASPI layer - i think) and my computer's burner is broken, so I'll have to wait on that. Installed Serious Sam 2 instead - very much like the first with some new bad guys and weapons - not a great improvement, but doesn't have to be - the first one was good mindless fun to begin with.

T3 was surprisingly a good movie - plot might have been missing, but no biggie. I don't expect such things from Arnold movies.

Less than a month till my next Metallica concert - the buildup is already starting.
