To the Unsung readers

As was pointed out, I missed my weekly blog entry. Since I didn't go bowling last night, I forgot to do so. I didn't go bowling cause I was sick and I had other stuff to do. As it turns out, our team got creamed and lost all 3 games. However, I'm not stupid enough to believe that it was because I wasn't there. As rumor holds, someone on the other team bowled a freaking 243! How do you compete with something like that? Don't worry though, as I will be back next week and we will continue our run towards the playoffs.

Probably the hardest test of the semester coming up tomorrow. "The devil is in the details" doesn't even come close to describing this class. No one in their right mind would ever remember all the details about IP layers and protocols and other such nonsense, but I will make damn sure I know them for tomorrow. That being said, this is the first class I have had here at UIUC where it feels like you are taught the nitty gritty all the way through (all h4X0r like) as opposed to being taught various academic topics with the occasional lab thrown in.

The interview of all interviews (meaning the best of out 2) is Thursday night - here's hoping I can get a job at a place I have always wanted a job (albeit on far west side of the country).

All you dallas and austin people out there (is there anyone from dallas that actually reads this?) will get to see me over thanksgiving break - consider yourselves the fortunate few.

I need to get my guitar fixed. I want to learn this song that is based on tapping, and if you don't have an amp hooked up, you can't tap. It's "Midnight" by Satriani, and it truly beautiful. Ignoring the fact that it would take me a month to learn the song (i.e. build up tapping skillz), I really look forward to learning this one. And to head off any comments from Ram and/or Gabe, - yes I'm a EE who hasn't fixed my own guitar.

Yes you are an EE. Go buy a $10 soldering iron from Radio Shack and get the job done. It's useful to have one anyway, since in theory you know how to use it.

Thanks for the update. Nothing you wrote stood out as something that required me to make fun of you. I'm sure I'll think of something later though. You haven't heard the last of me...

Too sick to bowl? Are you some kind of pansy? It sounds like you are and even worse, you're not the pretty white kind, but instead you're a yellow pansy. You seriously couldn't find the strength to roll that pink, 5 lb ball 60 times? Is there something you need to tell us? Is your illness more serious than you let on? Are you dying G? Say it isn't so. This is ever so sad. You'll be in our thoughts and prayers. If you want to end it on your onw terms, I'm told that suicide has is economically beneficial.

Even if you were sick, that's no excuse for letting your team down like that. Shame on you mister.

I'm sure you'll have comments to make Drew. And I know I'll have something to say in turn.

I was sick enough that standing up made my head hurt and sneezing hurt even more. It was really no fun. And I have quite a busy week - summed up to make a good enough reason not to bowl this week. But I'm no Manny Ramirez - I'll be there next week as the team asks.

And to Ram - it's just a theory - no actual proof. Gabe might remember my crappy soldering attempts from 464.

I do in fact remember your crappy soldering in 464. However, I still say you could and should fix your guitar...

who's the interview for? are you avoiding names on purpose? we won't make fun of your dreams. (well, I know I won't. no guarantees about the other bastards around here...)

heh. you guys know I love you all.

I don't know why I left it off - it was AMD - went okay, but not great. I'm not getting my hopes up.

I won't make fun of his dreams. But his hopes are still fair game.
